Rock Creek Meadows

From Eyesore to Showcase
Rock Creek Meadows is an outstanding example of YarrowBay's ability
to combine its resources in a way that not only meets difficult challenges,
but also creates significant new value for new homeowners and the community.
Fragmented ownership and a mountain of debris and trash made this 42-acre
site in Maple Valley an unattractive prospect for development as a new
residential community. YarrowBay's team made an extensive assessment of
the property's potential and partnered with MidMountain Contractors to
revitalize this land, removing the debris and contaminated fill and bringing
the site up to usable grade with some 300,000 cubic yards of native soils.
With clearance from the King County Department of Health, civil construction
began in 2003 to create the first 241 lots in a new community with amenities
like walking trails, a central park, and a number of recreational spaces for
homeowners to enjoy.
Phase II integrates an additional 6 acres of land into the project for 36
homes and one-half acre of dedicated recreation and open space. Phase III,
planned for 2007, will complete Rock Creek Meadows with an additional 34
homes for a total of 311 homes and an attractive, valuable new-home community.
